Eligibility requirements to apply for a Chevening Scholarship:
Age and gender are not important factors in applying for a Chevening Scholarship. As well as many other traits such as religion, marriage, paternity status, or class. All that matters is your ability to submit a strong application demonstrating that you are able to excel on an intensive UK Master's course, and that you have a clear vision for your future, and perhaps even your sector or country.

You are eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if the following are met:
- You must be in a country that is eligible for a Chevening Scholarship.
- You must return to your home country after completion of the scholarship for a period of at least two years.
- You have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to enter a postgraduate program at a UK university by the time you submit your application. This usually equates to a 2:1 UK second class honors degree but may vary depending on your course of study and university choice.
- Have a minimum of two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
- The job is full time.
- The job is part time.
- Volunteer work.
- Paid or unpaid internships.
- Apply to three different eligible UK undergraduate courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 15 July 2021.
You are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if the following are met:
- Hold British citizenship or dual British citizenship, (unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold a BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
- Obtain refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country.
- Applicants who are nationals of a Chevening-eligible country and who hold refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country are eligible for a scholarship.
- You are an employee, former employee or relative of an employee (since July 2018) of Her Majesty’s Government (including British Embassies/High Commissions, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Department for International Trade, Department of Defense, and Home Office), or an employee of the Association of Commonwealth Universities .
- Former employees or relatives of an employee (since July 2018) of Chevening Partner organizations are eligible to apply, but they cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organization they work for or have previously worked for or are affiliated with through relatives.
- Have previously studied in the UK on a UK Government-funded scholarship.
Relatives are defined as parents, stepparents, siblings, siblings, children, husband or wife, civil partner, or unmarried partner (where the spouses have been in a marriage-like relationship or civil partnership for at least two years).

Once applications are submitted, applications are subject to electronic screening according to the scholarship eligibility criteria. Any applications deemed ineligible will be removed from the selection process. Also please see the list of common errors here . Scholarship schedule:
The Chevening Scholarship selection process takes at least 8 months from the application deadline until applicants are conditionally selected for an award. Below is an overview of the application and selection process, so you always know what's going on.
- September 3: Applications open at 12:00 GMT.
- November 3: Applications close at 12:00 GMT.
- November 4: Applications are screened against eligibility criteria.
- Mid-November to December: Independent reading committees evaluate all eligible applications. Their scores and rankings are then sent to the British Embassy/High Commission.
- From early to mid-February: Inform the wanted persons for interviews.
- February 22: Deadline for submission of educational references and documents.
- From 1 March to 30 April: Conducting interviews.
- Early June: Announcing the results.
- July 15: Show deadline.
- September and October: Studies begin in Britain.
